Our people are vital to our success and staff are encouraged to attend on-going training to stay
abreast of the latest advances in animal health and welfare.

Veterinary nurses, like their human medical counterparts, are required to undertake studies to gain their professional qualifications. Our nursing staff have special interests in pet nutrition, dentistry, animal behaviour and training, and welcome your enquiries regarding these and other areas of animal health and welfare.

That expertise is supported by up-to-the minute medical facilities including an inhouse pathology system, x-ray equipment and advanced anaesthetics, all at our purposebuilt premises in Freshwater Street, Torquay.

Our practice is fully computerised, allowing thorough patient medical histories to be stored and then accessed from any point in the Surgery. Courtesy reminders for those all-important vaccinations
and heartworm medications are easily generated for your convenience.

Our Staff

But our commitment also extends beyond this practice and out into the community, where we actively ‘give back' by involving ourselves in community-based programs such as The Cat Adoption Centre and PetPEP (Pets & People Education Program).

We currently have a team of three vets - two partners, Austin and Bronwyn Mc Mahon; and an associate Sheyne Horton, who has been an invaluable part of the practice since 2000.

All of our vets devote in excess of 1-2 weeks every year to continuing education - studying and attending conferences on special interest areas such as dentistry, dermatology and small animal medicine.

This allows our vets to continually provide the most efficient diagnostic approach and effective up to date treatments for your pet.reception

Our reception staff include Alice (who has been a vital part of Bayview Veterinary Surgery for many years) and Kristy. Ann, Megan, Emily and Rachael are our experienced vet nurses.

All our staff are studying further in the fields of veterinary nursing, animal behaviour, nutrition and customer service, which maintains a continually striving and enthusiastic work environment.
