Meet Our Team

Our dynamic team at Bayview Vets bring together a range of skills, interests and backgrounds. Together we work in close collaboration with our clients in order to provide a tailored and holistic approach to pet health care.

Drs Austin and Bronwyn

Austin and Bronwyn both graduated with their Veterinary Degrees from the University of Queensland over 30 years ago. Much of their early professional years were spent working and travelling in England, Europe and Africa. On returning to Australia and later establishing Bayview Vets, they have loved focussing on companion animals within the caring community of Hervey Bay. The close long-term relationship they have formed with so many pet-loving families, and with their dedicated and loyal co-workers at Bayview Vets has created an incredibly rewarding work life.

Outside work they love to spend time with their 4 beautiful children, travelling on family holidays, at the hockey fields or at home on acreage in the garden with Dodger - who is a "better than the best" 5 y.o scoundrel border terrier !!

Dr Sheyne

After graduating from The University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science, Sheyne has worked in the industry for over 18 years. Sheyne has been a part of the Bayview team since 2000 and has a keen interest in soft tissue surgery on small animals. Sheyne enjoys kicking the soccer ball with his two sons, and dreams of one day holidaying on a Tropical Island.

Dr Breanna

After completing her Bachelor of Veterinary Science at the University of Queensland in 2015, Bre returned to Hervey Bay to join the Bayview team. What Bre enjoys most about her job is that it allows her to pursue her passion for helping animals and their families. Bre loves keeping active and spending time outdoors. Paddle boarding and camping with her Fiancé Liam and two Border Collies, Ruby and Diego, are among her favourite things to do.

Dr Rachel

Rachel has recently graduated from The University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science. Rachel is enjoying her move to Hervey Bay, and we are excited to have her on board our team! Rachel enjoys the variety of different cases that she gets to see during the day, and feels that the relationship owners have with their pets is very important.

Alice has been with Bayview Vets since 1994. From nursing through to office duties, she now enjoys helping clients on the telephone with all sorts of enquiries about pets and products. She has two children, now much bigger than herself, and a small menagerie including 3 horses, 2 dogs and several feathered friends. One of Alice’s greatest loves, apart from her husband Richard, is to walk on the beach with her dogs Wylie & Blista.

Kirsty has been vet nursing for over 10 years, and started with us in 2012. She loves that vet nursing is a hands on occupation, allowing teamwork and close contact with animals and their owners. A delightful 18mth old daughter, along with horses, sheep dogs, cats, chooks, ducks and baby joeys, keep Kirsty busy while she’s at home. When she isn’t caring for injured and orphaned wildlife, Kirsty likes hooking up the caravan and heading off on holidays!

Having spent the last 10 years working at Bayview Vets, Ann has been Veterinary Nursing for approximately 27 years. She graduated in 1991 from the Ithaca college of TAFE.  Ann is a Hervey Bay local born and bred, now married with 3 beautiful boys and a property at Susan River, stocked with cattle, some pigs, chooks and 3 dogs. Ann loves that clients at Bayview feel like family!!

Olivia started working at Bayview Vets in early 2015 and has almost completed her Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing! She loves seeing the moment when a pet is re-united with their loving humans after a short or long stay with us. Olivia is busy with her two children, Blake and Zayda, along with Coco the cat, two birds, two lizards and a guinea pig called Snowy. Olivia loves live music, AFL and the beach, and hopes to see more of Europe one day with her partner Darren.

Bec moved from the Sunshine Coast to join the Bayview team in 2012. While working with us, Bec completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2016. Bec loves that everyday as a vet nurse is different and she especially enjoys the daily kisses and cuddles from her patients. Bec has two kids and two trouble-making Cavoodles Roxy and Wilson. Away from work, she loves to travel with her family and take the puppies down to the beach.

Leigh has worked as a vet nurse for the last 3.5 years. She moved to Hervey Bay and joined Bayview Vets at the end of 2016. Leigh has a particular interest in animal behaviour and has been helping out with some of our Puppy Preschool classes! She has 2 dogs and 3 cats at home, and enjoys fishing, camping and surfing in the great outdoors.

Joining the team 8 years ago, Rachel completed her Certificate IV of Veterinary Nursing from the Animal Industries Resource Centre in 2012.
Rachael really enjoys all aspects of being a veterinary nurse. She thoroughly enjoys the warm, friendly connections formed with clients and loves providing the best care to pets when they are not feeling their best, often handing out kisses and cuddles to all our four legged friends.
Rachael has 2 busy dogs, Digger (Kelpie) and Yetti (Wolfhound!) that keep her on her toes, not to mention loving life as a mum to Theo her beautiful son.
Rachael and her husband enjoy travelling and camping whenever they can and she thoroughly enjoys her horse riding and boxing.

Emily has been with the clinic for over 10 years. Emily graduated in 2000 as a Vet Nurse from Bentley TAFE in Perth and has experience and a particular interest in dog obedience, running puppy and teen schools in addition to obedience classes. Between the dog, horse and young Thomas, Emily is kept busy even when she’s not at work!

Carly began her Vet Nursing course while she was working with Bayview Vets in 2006. Since then, she has worked in London at Beaumont animal hospital and has now re-joined our team. Carly enjoys seeing when sick animals recover and get to go home to their families. She likes going to the park and the beach with her two children and dog Fergie.

Zoe started at Bayview Vets last year, and before  joining us, she worked at Kingfisher Bay on Fraser Island. Zoe is currently studying her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, and likes the feeling of helping care for pets as they recover. Her favourite place she has travelled is The Lakes District in England and has 2 toy poodles at home.

Sam is our newest Bayview team member, excited to be starting her studies in vet nursing. Around work and family time, Sam keeps busy playing hockey and going to the beach.
